Welcome to Solly's Grille, a delightful hamburger haven nestled in Glendale, Wisconsin. If you're a fan of rich, buttery goodness and classic diner vibes, this local gem is a must-visit!

Solly's Grille specializes in hearty American cuisine, primarily known for their iconic butter burgers. The Original Butter Burger is a crowd favorite, featuring a juicy patty enhanced with a generous dollop of butter that melts into the meat, creating an unforgettable flavor experience. It’s no wonder diners like Matthew Pritchard can't resist coming back for more—this is indeed a burger that deserves a second glance and a second visit!

But the deliciousness doesn't stop there. Complement your burger with their "Milwaukee's Best" golden crispy French fries, or indulge in their Wisconsin cheese curds for a delightful snack. Vegetarians have not been forgotten, either; the 1/4 lb. veggie burger is crafted with care and served fresh, topped with crisp lettuce and ripe tomatoes.

The atmosphere at Solly's Grille is as warm and inviting as the food itself. Set within a charming conversion of an old house, diners often comment on the home-like experience, likening it to having a meal in grandma's living room. With seats for about 25, the intimate space ensures a cozy dining experience where you can watch the magic of meal preparation unfold right in front of you. It’s this unique setting combined with attentive service—like the praises for waitress Darcey—that truly elevates the dining experience, making it feel personal and special.

Customers rave about their visits to Solly's, with reviews highlighting not just the incredible food but also the friendly staff who enhance the experience. As Ray S. enthusiastically states, “All burgers are not equal. Solly’s are fantastic,” while Jade Lovelien praises the Original Butter Burger for its simple but exquisite pleasure. Add a freshly whipped chocolate malt to your meal to round off your visit on a sweet note, just like the folks at Solly's recommend.

In a foodie landscape rich with options, Solly's Grille stands out as a homey, legendary spot worth seeking out. Whether you're a seasoned local or just passing through, make sure to stop by for a taste of Milwaukee’s unforgettable butter burgers—your taste buds will thank you!

All burgers are not equal. Solly’s are fantastic. Try the butter burger with cheese or one of the special variations. The fries are awesome and the atmosphere of a local eatery with friendly and engaging servers is comfortable. Top it all with a freshly made chocolate malt. Delicious!!

What a place! From the outside, it appears to be a bar or normal restaurant, but I was surprised to enter and find a classic diner, complete with lunch counter! Their specialty is butter burgers, and depending on what one you order, they take this to the extreme. I ordered the big boy (or lad?) burger, and oh man, it was like a parody of a butter burger. It came out dripping wet with rendered butter. It was absolutely delicious. I could feel my cholesterol rising with each bite, but it was so worth it. They also offer malts and pie, I had the banana malt, great combo with the burger. They don't have pickles for the burgers, oddly. Fries were just ok, crinkle cut, would prefer matchstick. Overall I'll definitely be back, but for the not so over the top option!

It is an old house conversion. So as you walk in its front porch, and then you seat on bar wrapped around the cook and wait staff. Like eating in grandmas living room. The decor is older antic but clean not dusty or just there . Very interesting and a great experience. This is the original butter burger so you do need to be aware and love buttered burger. Great crisp fries and the meat is to perfection. Not to mention the fountain drinks and malts. It is a smaller place but worth the effort to stop in. It is off major exits so it is not way out. There are plenty of parking spaces.

My family and I stopped here on a weekend jaunt away, and my SO was excited to try the butter burger. We arrived and there was a short wait. This 'not-your-average' restaurant is built within a house and it's small, vintage dining space only seats about 25 people, where you sit and watch all of the magic of preparing your food happen. The wait was kind of a mess, as there were multiple families coming in and no one was there to greet or take names in order so folks were seating themselves out of line. We each ordered sandwiches and shared a plate of fries. The fries were hot and fresh, but nothing any different than what other places have. While the other two in my party really enjoyed their well known butter burgers, I opted for a BLT. I was a little worried after placing the order that I overheard the cook asking our waitress what a BLT was, and she had to instruct him on how to make one. Now, while I understand that this place probably makes way more butter burgers than anything else on their menu, a cook should be aware of the other options they offer on their menus. The plate looked nice when it arrived, but I felt the sandwich was drowning in butter and there was very little bacon on it. It was definitely not my favorite meal, but the others really enjoyed their burgers. So in conclusion, if you are feeling the urge to try a greasy, buttery burger, in a local, homely establishment, this would be the place to visit if in Milwaukee!!

I've been to a few James Beard classic winners and they've always been fantastic. Solly's Grille is no exception. It's a classic diner serving butter burgers and oversized milkshakes. I was not prepared for the glob of butter to be tossed into my cooked burger, but it was delicious.

I loved it, the people I was with didn't. Super buttery burgers. The host lady was really friendly. Took a long time to get food.
